Matt Suleau travels to Detroit, Michigan to find out the story behind Cadillac’s rich history, and experience the all new Cadillac Lyriq before it launches in Australia. This documentary promo was shot alongside a shorter promo piece in order to tell both the full story of Cadillac’s history, as well as show off the bold, iconic styling of the new Lyriq.

For this video we set the style in pre production, with the plan to use in camera slow shutter effects to transition between scenes, using car mount rigs to create energy for driving shots and using a mix of documentary ‘fly on the wall’ style shooting alongside stylized gimbal shots to keep the video engaging. As a solo shooter working alongside the director and creative director, we had a small but nimble team to maximize the production value of this shoot. Filmed on location in Detroit, Michigan.

When photographic artist Tamara Dean decided to build an underwater photographic studio, she knew that not just any pool system would work. The clarity and comfort that the Naked Pools freshwater system brings allows her to capture her models pin sharp, and keep them comfortable underwater for long periods.

Tamaras images convey a surreal, etherial world which we aimed to capture and showcase with this video. Through the use of underwater abstract shots capturing the models, we wanted to set the tone to match Tamaras photographic style. Through a mix of shooting with an underwater housing as well as handheld and drone from above the surface, Tamaras experience gets told in her unique way.

To match the styling of these amazing pieces, in this promo video we kept the mood and energy high with moving lights, probe macro shots and overhead lighting to show off these highly stylized hair pieces. Using a combination of lighting techniques and talent direction, we showcased these dramatic styles with matching camera shots. Filmed in studio in Sydney, Australia.

The Bears have a long history in the NRL, established in 1908. After a long hiatus, the Bears are back to join the NRL in 2027 with fans all over the nation excited for the comeback.

This passion project was a collaboration piece working together with many of the talented friends I’ve worked with over the years of making videos. Working together we wanted to share the excitement that the fans have for the Bears returning to the league, and create a a cinematic promo to help them launch. In this promotional video, we decided on a documentary style approach mixed with setup scenes to create an energetic and fun promo that speaks to the real benefit that AfterPay brings to their business. Using Easyig with handheld movements, mixed in with gimbal and tripod shots, we captured the story of the real life founders, as well as the whole customer experience. Exploring the world behind the photograph, Tales By Light is a Netflix documentary showcasing photographers using their art to make a difference. Featuring Orlando Bloom, as well as photographers such as Art Wolfe, Stephen DuPont, Peter Eastway, Eric Cheng, Dylan River and more, each episode dives in to the story behind the power that photography can have to make a difference in our world.

This Netflix documentary series ran for 3 seasons, each highlighting different styles and approaches to photography. With a skeleton crew and a lot of international travel, we kept the kit as minimal as possible and maximized the skills of each crew member. Filmed on location around the world in Alaska, Antarctica, Australia, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, The Bahamas, Chile, India, Kenya, Norway, Tonga, USA and West Papua.

Big Cat Tales is a 2 season documentary series airing on Animal Planet which follows the lives of the lions, leopards and cheetahs of the Masai Mara in Kenya, Africa. Hosts Jonathan Scott, Angela Scott, and Jackson Looseyia follow the stories of the day to day lives of these animals, watching the ever changing dynamics, bonding and drama with the natural world around them.

This documentary was shot over 3 years with multiple month long trips to the Masai Mara to get a true understanding of the lives of these animals. Using high end Red cinema cameras paired with the Canon CNE 50×20 lens, we captured long range hunts, intimate moments between family members and the ever present threat of humans on the natural environment. Capturing interviews as well as side stories of other African wildlife, Big Cat Tales shows an unfiltered and authentic portrait of one of the world’s last great ecosystems. Filmed on location in the Masai Mara, Kenya.

Through its beginner friendly platform, OctaFX allows users to trade markets with ease, allowing people to enter in to trading stocks, shares, crypto and much more.

OctaFX wanted a new look and branding, and this online promotional video kick started their campaign. We wanted to create a touching story through the decades of a child who gets inspired and follow his journey through the years. Through lighting and styling changes, we pre planned the looks to maximise the space we had to create multiple looks within similar locations. Filmed on location in Sydney, Australia.

Every day, OzHarvest helps thousands of people in need by rescuing food that would otherwise go to waste, and redistributing it through their network of food banks and restaurants. Through all of the charities hard work, it’s the passionate people behind the cause that helps this dream become a reality.

The aim of this video was to capture the everyday heroes of OzHarvest in action, showcasing their personable, helpful character that makes an impact to so many lives. Using handheld easy rig shots we kept the feeling intimate and “fly on the wall” style, capturing and showcasing the way that these everyday heroes help their community.
